🧿Ranger Adventure's Calling Upgrades
Level 6 ranger redesign features
Redesigning the ranger class from the ground up is going to be a core part of the next book. Follow the Kickstarter project, so you don't miss out.
Remind me, what were the callings?
Here's a quick recap of the defining path each ranger must decide upon, the Adventure's Calling feature. For the full details, revisit the post dedicated to this feature:

You have a choice of three mutually exclusive callings which level up as you progress:
Adventure's Calling improves at level 6:

- Bond gets an additional choice of trait options for their companion.
- The way Bond is structured is actively undergoing conversation in playtesting. Join the discussion here.
- Predator gets health when they kill something

- What about a bag of rats? Since you get HP equal to the CR of the creature, you wouldn't heal if anything was less than CR 1, say a rat in a bag....
- To avoid incentivizing "kill stealing" or other less desirable behaviors, this one will likely change.
- Warden learns a Druid spell.
Let me know if you have any ideas on how you'd like to see the Adventure's Callings improve!
Next week we'll dive into the next features.
I've been playtesting the ranger redesign for several months. Here are the sessions if you'd like to see how it has evolved over time:
